Sustainable palatants: from alternative sourcing to eco-design, how to create value while addressing pet food industry challenges
Like all the consumers, pet owners are more and more concerned about the sustainability of the food they buy for their animal. They expect pet food companies to control the impact of their products on environment all along their life.
The sourcing of raw materials and ingredients is a critical point in the design of sustainable pet food products. This poster shows how meat protein sources used in palatants can be successfully replaced by plant based protein while maintaining a high palatability level.
