Pet food palatability

White Paper | Afraid of biases and risk of false conclusions? Discover how to avoid the traps of palatability measurement

White Paper

Ensuring reliable palatability measurement

When conducted properly, palatability testing is a useful scientific and marketing tool pet food manufacturers can rely on to make strategic decisions. However, the risk of generating false conclusions from palatability trials exists due to biases that can appear if protocols and panels are not properly controlled.
Symrise Pet Food's experts in palatability measurement have established several good practices to avoid measurement biases. They include the careful qualification of the animals, the perfect control of testing conditions (time, duration, ration...), but also the respect of animal well-being. Indeed, representative and reliable answers can only be obtained with healthy, happy and unstressed pets!
