Kibble characteristics influence palatability
PIA Technical forum | March 28th 2024 | 1:30-2:30 pm | Radisson Blu Plaza, Grand Ballroom | English

Palatability results from the interaction between a pet food ... and an animal. To satisfy cats and dogs appetite, pet food thus needs to gather sensory and physico-chemical characteristics adapted to each species.

After a quick review of the mechanisms of palatability, Nathalie Marquet, Global SPF R&D Manager, will present the key characteristics that influence the palatability of kibbles and the feeding behaviour of animals. From the moisture content of the kibble to its shape, from the origin of the fats to the kibble packaging, Nathalie will tell you all about kibble palatability drivers.
